Area Attractions, Dining and Shopping The immediate area surrounding Markham House Suites contain some of Little Rock's most popular destinations. Some attractions and events are seasonal, so click on the link for schedules and more information. Going to an Arkansas Razorback football game or other event at Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium. As a guest, you won't even have to look for (or pay for) a parking spot. The stadium is right across the street! Wooo Pig Sooiee! Golf? You're looking at it! The 18-hole War Memorial Public Golf Course is a short putt, right across the street. Tennis anyone? The outdoor public Walker Tennis Center is also right across the street, just a backhand away. The War Memorial Pool and Fitness Center is just up the hill from War Memorial Stadium. Little Rock Zoo, another whole-family favorite is also just 1-minute by car. Park Plaza, one of Little Rock's largest shopping malls, is just up the street at the intersection of Markham and University Avenue, about 2-minutes away. Dillards and dozens of other stores and restaurants are yours for the shopping. University Mall, and Sears, both on University Avenue, are also just two minutes away. Historic Hillcrest, is a trendy residential neighborhood is known for its cool shops, great restaurants, jazz club, and other must see spots. Also a great spot for scenic neighborhood walking and jogging. Just a two-minute drive-- or a bit longer if you want a nice walk. Necessities in the neighborhood: The Hillcrest neighborhood also offers a full size Kroger grocery store, dry cleaners, post office, quick stop and other necessities.
